Welcome to Cusp of Gemini, a web site dedicated to personally made Jewelry.
The beaded and chainmaille jewelry is handcrafted in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The artisan, Irene, has been making jewelry for more than a decade but fell in love with chainmaille a few years ago. Like any true Taurus, Cusp of Gemini, she has two sides to her – the creative, projects-exploding-everywhere side and the OCD, everything-should-be-organized side. It’s always a battle as to which side of her personality is going to win!
Chainmaille isn’t just for armour anymore. It can make pretty, feminine, subtle jewelry as well as flamboyant creations. Irene prefers to work in aluminum as it is very easy to manipulate. Her preferred supplier is HyperLynks and permission has kindly been given to use their photo of the various colours of rings available. Custom orders are always welcome.
Irene also makes beaded jewelry. Each piece is unique and won’t be replicated. Irene uses a variety of bead types – glass, stone, metal, wood and more and tries to buy beads whenever and wherever she travels. This is frequently irritating to her husband and travelling companion who does a lot of standing around looking bored in bead stores!
